Practical Information Gudhjem

Gudhjem is a lovely little mountain town that unfortunately doesn’t offer much space for parking in the central part. In JANTZENs HOTEL courtyard, we have room for up to 10 cars exclusively for hotel guests. We do not reserve parking spaces and advise guests arriving by car to be prepared to unload their luggage and then park their car above the town if the courtyard parking is full. Please note that Brøddegade is a one-way street from the main road down towards the hotel, and the entrance to the courtyard is just around the corner on Holkavej.

You can access your room at JANTZENs HOTEL from 3:00 PM on the day of arrival. On the day of departure, we kindly ask you to check out by 11:00 AM. Payment is made during check-in and can be done with a card.

We encourage you to hang the small “Do not disturb” sign (found on the inside of your room door) on the outside. This lets us know not to prioritize cleaning your room first when we attend to the rooms daily between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM.

The room rates at JANTZENs HOTEL include a full breakfast with freshly baked bread, coffee or tea, and local specialties. You can enjoy this great start to the day in the cozy pavilion between 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM.

Here at the hotel, we have aimed to create a relaxing environment where you are invited to enjoy coziness, togetherness, and contemplation. Therefore, you won’t find a TV in your room but only in the green lounge.

JANTZENs HOTEL is a wonderful gem, and part of its charm can be attributed to its multiple levels, beautiful stairs, and challenging cobblestone paths, among other features. We want to draw your attention to the fact that the hotel, like Gudhjem town, poses challenges for individuals with mobility difficulties. Please also refer to the information about parking in Gudhjem mentioned above.

Extra beds are available in junior suites, family rooms, and superior rooms for DKK 400 per extra bed per night.

A crib can be booked by emailing booking@jantzenshotel.dk prior to arrival for DKK 350 per crib per stay.

You can bring your well-behaved and calm dog as your pet. Please note that overnight stays with a dog require booking one of the hotel’s family rooms.

As is the case in most places, smoking is not allowed on the hotel premises for the consideration of other guests. This applies indoors, outdoors, and on the hotel balconies. If you wish to smoke, we kindly ask you to do so only on the terrace near the large rock wall in the courtyard.

As an overnight guest, you are welcome to relax in JANTZENs charming Courtyard, which is private for hotel guests and paying café guests from outside. Please note that only food and drinks purchased at the hotel are allowed in the Courtyard.

You can choose whether to fly or take the ferry – it’s up to you. The main thing is that you arrive and enjoy fantastic days at JANTZENs HOTEL in Gudhjem. We look forward to welcoming you.

With the many bridge connections, taking the ferry is quite special – it reminds us that Denmark consists of islands. Today, you can sail to Bornholm from Ystad in Sweden, Køge in Denmark, and Sassnitz in Germany.

If you prefer flying, it is possible from Copenhagen, Aalborg, Billund, and Sønderborg in Denmark. During the peak season, there is a bus that goes around the island from Bornholm Airport. If you prefer a taxi to Gudhjem, it’s worth knowing that you can get a discount and a fixed price for the trip by using the DanTaxi app.

The approximately 25 km journey takes 30 minutes by car – by bike, it depends on your fitness level and preferred pace. If you arrive without a car or bike, the trip to Gudhjem takes 45-60 minutes by bus directly from Rønne Harbor.
